The Triple Lens

Three questions asked of everything on this site. SOURCE: where did this come from? POWER: who holds the power here? PATH: what happens next? The engine that answers them reads records that exist, shows you the query it ran, and refuses when there is nothing on record. No language model sits anywhere in that path.

The three lenses

Three questions, and what each one is allowed to hold

A lens is not a summary and it is not an opinion. Each lens holds a fixed set of fields, and it may only report what those fields contain. If a field is empty, the lens says so in those words rather than filling the gap with something plausible.

The three lenses and what each holds
LensQuestionWhat it holds
SOURCE Where did this come from? Who made it, whether a person or a machine made it, and how complete the record is. Tiers run S1 (primary document) down to S6 (unverified).
POWER Who holds the power here? Creator's share, who controls access, audit right, term length, cost to leave, and what the other side may do with the work.
PATH What happens next? The one next action, how long it takes, whether it can be undone, and what it forecloses.

The refusal principle

When there is nothing on record, this engine returns NO RECORD — refused and stops. That is not an error state and it is not a bug report. It is the correct answer to a question the records cannot answer, and it is shown with the same weight as any other result. The alternative — a fluent guess — is how a child's safety page ends up quoting a helpline nobody verified.

Why no model sits in the path

Nothing on this page calls a language model. Answers are assembled from seeded records by ordinary code, free text is routed by a keyword table, and the query is printed underneath every answer. A keyword router that misses is inspectable — you can read the line that failed. A model that misroutes is not.

Platform flag

serves_minors = true

This platform is built for young children with a caregiver present, so it carries the minors flag. Two rules follow from that flag automatically, and both are visible in the engine rather than promised in a policy page.

Query logs sweep at 30 days

Every lens query on this site is logged for 30 days and then swept. The ordinary retention on a platform without the flag is 180 days. You can see the retention line printed under the query panel of every single answer on this page — it is generated from the same constant the sweep uses, not written by hand.

No engagement-derived signal may enter an answer

Completion rates, streaks, dwell time and popularity are not inputs to any lens here. A child's attention is not evidence about anything, and a safety product that optimises for it stops being a safety product. Try to push one in and watch what the binding does.

No engagement signal is attached to any answer on this page.

Working lens query

Ask a lens about a real object on this site

Pick one of the nine specialty lenses and one of the seeded objects, or type a question and let the keyword router pick for you. Several of these objects have real gaps, so several of these answers will honestly refuse. Those refusals are the point: they show you exactly which record is missing and which page it belongs to.

The single most important behaviour

Absence is not zero

Two records sit side by side below. One has no revenue share recorded at all. The other has a real, deliberate zero written into it. A system that collapsed those two would tell you a creator keeps nothing, when the truth is that nobody has read the contract. Flip the toggle and watch the difference survive.

Two more absences that are not the same thing

derivative_claims: [] is a statement. An absent one is silence. An empty array means somebody read the terms and there are no derivative claims. An absent field means nobody looked. A filter for "things claiming no AI training rights" must return the first and never the second, or the filter quietly launders unchecked records into cleared ones.

human_pledged = false renders as human_made: "undeclared", never "false". "The creator did not take the pledge" is not "a machine made this." One is a missing signature; the other is an accusation.

The binding for this site

Which object types carry which lenses, and why

The binding is enforced in code, not left to whoever calls the engine. If a type does not carry a lens, the engine returns a refusal that names the binding rule instead of producing a number nobody should have.

Object types and the lenses they carry
Object typeSOURCEPOWERPATHWhy, as a human commitment

Every object type on this site carries serves_minors = true. A room never carries POWER: a room is people, and scoring the power balance inside one would be surveillance wearing an accountability costume.

Every seeded object, with its live badge

Click any badge to open the full block. Several read "Not stated" — that is the real state of the record, not an unfinished screen.

Specialty lens library

The triads that apply to this creator

The wider library carries a dozen triads. These are the ones that bind to body-safety learning for young children, with the constraint each one imposes written next to it.

Other triads in the library — Worst / Middle / Best, Problem / Common Ground / Solution, Risk / Neutral / Opportunity, Urgent / Important / Watch, Red / Yellow / Green, Creator / Audience / Market — exist but are not bound to any object type on this site, so no screen here uses them.

The nine specialty lenses

Fixed questions, fixed answer shapes

Each specialty lens asks one question and returns one shape of answer. That is what makes an answer checkable: you can tell at a glance whether a field is missing, because the shape does not change to hide it.
